The Udora Leaskdale Lions Club is proud to support local students pursuing post-secondary education through our annual Education Bursary program. We believe that investing in education is one of the most important ways we can serve our community's future.
Program Overview
Each year, our club awards educational bursaries to deserving students from our local area who are pursuing post-secondary education. These awards recognize academic achievement, community involvement, and financial need.
Award Amount
Two bursaries of $750.00 will be awarded for the 2026-2027 school year
Application Period
This year's deadline is May 31st, 2026
Award Presentation
Winners will be announced by June 15th, 2026
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for an Education Bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Academic Requirements
Applicants will be:
- Graduating from a local high school or equivalent
- Accepted to a recognized post-secondary institution
- Demonstrating satisfactory academic performance
- Pursuing a full-time program of study
Community Connection
- Must be a resident of the Udora/Leaskdale area
- Must demonstrate community involvement or volunteer service
Application Process
Step 1: Obtain Application
Application forms are available from:
- Local high school guidance counselors

Step 2: Complete Application
The application includes:
- Personal information and contact details
- Acceptance to post-secondary institution
- Outline how you meet the criteria
- Two letters of recommendation
Step 3: Submit Application
Complete applications must be submitted by the deadline to:

Step 4: Review and Selection
Applications are reviewed by the Education Bursary Committee, with recipients selected based on the criteria outlined above. All applicants will be notified of the results.

Applications are evaluated based on the following factors:
Academic Achievement
Academic performance, course selection, and educational goals
Community Service
Volunteer work, community involvement, and leadership activities
Personal Essay
Quality of written communication and clarity of educational and career goals
