Membership Requirements
Lions membership is open to individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age
- Character: Must be of good moral character and reputation in the community
- Commitment: Willing to actively participate in club activities and service projects
- Availability: Able to attend monthly meetings (first Monday of each month, September-June)
- Service: Committed to the Lions motto "We Serve"
Lions membership is open to all genders, backgrounds, and professions. We welcome diversity and believe it strengthens our ability to serve effectively.
What's Expected of Members?
Meeting Attendance
Members are expected to attend monthly meetings held on the first Monday of each month from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, September through June. We understand that perfect attendance isn't always possible, but regular participation is important.
Service Participation
Members contribute to club service projects according to their availability and abilities. This may include:
- Volunteering at fundraising events
- Participating in community service projects
- Serving on committees
- Supporting fellow members' initiatives
Dues and Contributions
Members pay modest annual dues that cover club operations and Lions International fees. Additional voluntary contributions support our charitable activities.
Fellowship and Support
Members support each other and work together as a team to achieve our service goals and maintain the friendly, welcoming spirit of our club.
How to Join
Step 1: Attend a Meeting
Come to one of our monthly meetings as a guest to learn more about our club and meet current members. This is a great way to see if Lions is right for you.
Step 2: Express Interest
Let any current member or club officer know that you're interested in joining. They can answer your questions and guide you through the process.
Step 3: Application
Complete a membership application with the sponsorship of a current Lions member. The application includes basic information about yourself and your interest in service.
Step 4: Club Review
Your application will be reviewed by the club membership, and you'll be voted on at a regular meeting. This is typically just a formality for qualified candidates.
Step 5: Installation
Once accepted, you'll be officially installed as a Lion during a special ceremony and receive your membership materials and Lions pin.
